The Italian ski resort of Courmayeur is part of the Aosta Valley and is known all over the world for its great terrain (352 km to be precise) with downhill and world cup runs still used for competitions. It is packed with Italian charm and is a short transfer from the airport.
Located at the foot of Mont Blanc, Courmayeur is a traditional village with cobbled streets lined with local Italian deli’s and antique stores. Courmayeur is also a well noted Heli Ski centre which allows you to reach those places others do not, a guide is a must, but the experience is once in a lifetime.
Courmayeur needs little introduction, with incredible skiing on offer. For beginner and intermediates, head to the Chécrouit - Val Veny where you’ll find the rolling gentle and well groomed pistes, nearby the off piste is also highly regarded but those seeking more of the steep terrain tend to focus their time on the Mont Blanc side taking you over to Chamonix and Argentiere.
The off piste in the area is also not to be missed, including the famous 24km Vallée Blanche, reached via the Punta Helbronner at 3,466m allowing you to test out the rotating ‘Skyway’ lift on the way up.
This journey time is estimated for a car. Journey time might vary depending on many factures.
