AlpyBus offer private transfers to the ski resort of Val D’Isere, part of the Tignes/Val D’Isere ski area, formerly known as the Espace Killy, which offers visitors 300km of marked pistes. It is tucked away at the end of the Tarentaise Valley at a height of 1850m.
Forming part of the newly renamed ski area -Tignes/Val D I’sere, formerly known as the Espace Killy, Val D’Isere offers visitors a truly seamless ski experience. Unlike many so called ‘linked’ ski areas, Val D’Isere and Tignes are actually naturally linked, making trips around the area easy and convenient, rather than spending time ‘travelling’ or on more extensive ‘connecting’ runs or lifts, this area allows skiers and snowboarders to maximise their time on the piste.
The Solaise Gondola (complete with Wi-fi and heated seats!) has revolutionised the resorts lift infrastructure that was once troubled with crowds in peak season, moving around 3,600 people an hour and waving goodbye to lift ques.
The skiing reaches heights of 3456m on top of the Grande Motte Glacier in Tignes and 3,400m in Val D’Isere, making their snow record fantastic. And with a huge underground snow making facility the ‘Snow Workshop` could cover the whole Bellevarde ski area in a week.
Val D’Isere village is all you would expect, with a quant church in the centre, wooden chalets as well as plenty of luxury chalets and hotels to cater for the large number of visitors it receives every winter. Quite rightly one of the most popular resorts in Europe, and although many accommodation options can be on the pricey side of its neighbouring resorts, Val D’Isere never fails to deliver on exciting and varied skiing as well its legendary world class Après ski.
